Soctopus

Branding and identity Design for Socktopus, born in 2024, is a quirky sock brand with one goal , to rescue socks from the dark corners of your laundry basket and bring them into the spotlight.

Logo Design

Identity Design

The Brand

A Quirky,Wild and Bold Design challenge i undertook to create a brand Identity.

Voice & Brand Personality

Think of it as your eccentric, stylish friend who sees mismatched socks as a fashion statement and bedtime as a chance for one last pun. It’s bold, weird, and unbothered by trends. Whether it's hyping up your pineapple-print socks or declaring laundry day a celebration, Socktopus speaks in confident quirks and eight-legged wit.

The "Fun" Approach

My initial designs for socktopus was not bold and quirky enough..

and therefore i had to go back to the drawing board a couple of times nailing down which would be the right approach, after a point i i just played my fav song and decided to just go with the flow and with a little bit of tweaks here and there i finally cooked up the identity that matched the brief well.

The process

From Tentacles to Toes

I started by exploring playful ways to merge the idea of an octopus with the world of socks, sketching out letterforms that could twist and curl like tentacles. Once I found the sweet spot, I refined the logo into a bold, wavy typeface that felt alive but still readable. To wrap it up, I paired it with a vibrant, high-energy color palette that screams fun, just like the brand itself.

Review and feedback

I did a review and feedback session to see how people respond to my identity designs and the feedback was..

Many appreciated the playful integration of tentacle elements into the typography, noting that it made the logo feel quirky and memorable while still being easy to read. Designers highlighted how the fluid letterforms carried personality without sacrificing clarity, which they felt was a strong balance for a lifestyle brand.
